Crazy people? self concept?

by - June 29, 2017

I've learned Communication Management in college. And thinking about self concept. as we know that crazy people will do anything that they want. so, is there any self concept within them ectually?
Self-concept is the set of stable ideas a person has about who he or she is; also known as identity. The "self-concept," on the other hand, is a product of this reflexive activity. It is the concepthe individual has of himself as a physical, social, and spiritual or moral being. Rosenberg defines the self-concept broadly as "the totality of an individual's thoughts and feelings having reference to himself as an object" (1979:7). Similarly broad is Snygg & Combs's statement that "the phenomenal self includes all those parts of the phenomenal field which the individual experiences as part or characteristic of himself" (1949:58).
I explained more what self-concept is and I go with idea that self-concept  is a concept we make to our ownself.
After that, I asked my sister who is now being a co assisstent doctor in hospital and she passed the soul stase where she was being co-ass in RSJ *I don’t know what it is called*. I asked her how exactly crazy people is, I came with an explanation about self-concept and asked whether crazy people have it or not. The answere I got is yes. She said that crazy people have their self-concept. But the problem is the concept they make is too over or beyond the line, because of that they become crazy. For Example, someone make a concept that he is a billionaire while in his real life he is a jobless  person. Because his wish and the reality is not the same then he becomes crazy.

Based on the explantion what self-concept is from the experts and based on the case, yes there is a self-concept within crazy people.
